It’s hard to believe that it’s 2024 and I haven’t posted for what seems like forever! It’s time for me to get back in the routine of journaling the happenings here at the Wheeler Lazy J Ranch.

We are now raising Crop 8 of calves. We currently have 13 calves, 7 yearlings, 20 cows, and 1 bull. We have our own Angus bull now that takes care of the herd in many different ways. Part of his ‘official’ name is Firestone, but I call him Bull. He seems to like it. He’s a handsome, young bull. (Pics to follow)

Some things have changed. We still grow grass and bale (or buy) hay so the grandkids have bales to play on. We give hay to the cows too! We now have 3 barn cats and 1 house cat. Well, that’s how it started out anyway. Sweet Pea (my inside Princess Kitty) is just as happy to be a Pasture Princess and the barn cats love being inside the house as much as outside. They are all lovable and fierce hunters bringing treasures to the front door often.
Shadow is still around to walk with Charlie to the barn and now Stella, Melissa’s dog, is enjoying time at the Ranch. She enjoys the freedom of the country more than being in the city. She loves being around the kids, cats, cows, and horses.
Happy New Year from the Wheeler’s Country Road and the Lazy J Ranch!
